And is OVER!!!!

The day finally arrived when the RLBT was complete and hubby came home! Just when I had given up that it would even be this weekend, and then the call came. It was a wonderful ceremony and there will be pictures and more posted soon. Right now we are just having a good time being together:)

And continues......

Sorry for the repeat titles! I really think it is the best way to describe the situation and also have discovered that this is best forum to communicate to my "masses" and keep you up to date. I love you all and am blessed by your emails and messages.
I have to say that, although I am still hum-drum in my waiting, I am rejoicing that gutsy dad is home from the RLBT!!!! Congrats on the reunion of the gutsy family---love ya'! :)
Okay, so where we are in the process....with a bit of explaination as well. Coming home is a multi-part process. Moving from point A, B, C, etc. before reaching the ultimate final destination which is home. Better half is stuck at point B---at least he is on the move. The weather and planes are not cooperating much apparently. Can't say when to expect him, but it is now a couple of days past our hoped for date.
Well, we are going to go on with our busy lives and Log has a bowl-a-thon tonight and Bry has a soccer game. Both start at roughly the same time.....15 miles apart! Thank goodness for friends!

And continues....

In an ideal world where everything goes "just so", I would have different news to share. Hmm, apparently I haven't realized that we do not now, or have we ever, lived in an ideal world. Still no word on when the better half will return. Having anticipated a date and that date passing us by, I'm feeling rather blah. I know we've made it this far and we are able to hold out a little bit longer. That's what my head says anyway. There is also no real timeframe now. So we wait.....

And the waiting continues....

A phone call from hubby and they are close to moving from their 'home' and on to the next leg of their journey. So we wait. Until then, we have guitar lessons, soccer practice, and laundry. I'll take some pictures today of our neighborhood and the decorations....

Finally, Austria Photos!

Way back in August the boys and I and a few other families from our area went down to Austria and stayed in Podersdorf, Austria on the Neusiedler See (See is lake in Deutsch). We met up with several families who live in Bratislava, Slovakia. We had a great time. Bryan learned to windsurf and loved it. He can't wait for dad to join us next time! Logan just played around near the shore. I didn't get in the water at all. It was TOOO COLD! Here are some of the pictures!

My Crazy Life

Several posts ago, I mentioned that I would "let you know how it goes" when it came to life slowing down. Well, in two words, it didn't! Every time I round a corner and think "huge task accomplished, things will slow down," it doesn't. I don't understand it! I had been doing so well with the "just say no" theory to volunteer tasks. Can't say where I went wrong, but there hasn't been much down-time in recent weeks.
We've just returned home from a training weekend. I was teaching several classes and, because it was over an hour away with late night/early morning sessions, stayed in the town where the training was being held. The boys went with me and stayed with a friend. I smell like campfire. I love the smell of campfire...normally. But right now, I'm so tired I'm rather sick of it because it means I have to take a shower, throw all my clothes and coat into the wash, whine, whine, moan, moan. This is the 4th weekend in a row that we have either been camping or I have had another activity that took up both days.
Weeknights are meetings, soccer practice, games, scouts. Hmmm, maybe when soccer is done in a couple of weeks, it will get better.
I have a list of to-do's that doesn't seem to be getting smaller. Most of it requires actually being home to get done. Hubby will be home soon (new clue for family: if his birthday was in October, he might be home) and I would really like to have everything accomplished by then. I'm not holding my breath though. I'm sure he won't mind if the windows don't get washed! I'm just trusting in that.
Sleep has also been evading me. It's my MO lately to go to sleep at a perfectly respectable hour (which I know now is NOT 8:30....thanks Jess!) and then wake up at 1or 1:30 in the morning and remain wide awake until well after 4. I normally have dark circles under my eyes, they are fast approaching the "who did she get in a fight with" level.
If I can only hold out until the RLBT is over. Perhaps THEN things will slow down. Perhaps I shouldn't hold my breath for that either.

New Purchase

I'm very excited! Tomorrow the two antique trunks that I purchased will be delivered. I'm busy rearranging a few pieces of furniture to make room for them. There isn't much in this itsy bitsy house:)
The trunks are beautiful. One is painted Bavarian style. The other is very large dome top trunk. The man I bought them from lives here in our little town. He has a large array of antiques that he has refurbished. All of the pieces are amazing. Once Hubby is home, we will go and do a little more shopping.
I've also received my two rugs from hubby that he purchased at his location on the RLBT. I haven't decided just what to do with those either. It's hard when all the items we are collecting are for our "someday" house and don't necessarily fit into these short-term quarters! Oh well, we love it!

Some taggin' going on!

Two posts in one day! Who'd a thunk it! Couldn't resist this one though, can't be outdone by my girls!

Here's the game!
1. Post the rules on your blog
2. List six random things about yourself.
3. Tag six people at the end of the post.

Hmmm, random things about me (that I don't mind the world knowing about!!!)
1. I am addicted to sudoku
2. Who do I think is the hottiest hottie in Hollywood? Jeffrey Dean Morgan of course!
3. My entire life is made of up scouting events, soccer and homeschooling!
4. I haven't had a full-time "paying" job in over 13 years.
5. My favorite "filling" time job was a barista in a coffee shop.
6. I love moving to new places (I know, seriously isn't that the craziest thing you've ever heard?)

Now for the hard part since most of my blogging blogger friends have already been tagged....coming up with 6 more!
1. Mama on the Move (I know you were secretly waiting for me to tag you!)
2. Living One Day at a Time
3. Court---something a little different for your MS page
4. How sad....I don't have anymore friends:(

Photos are past due!

So, I'm realizing that I am way behind in putting a pic or two in here! Lots of events have gone by and I haven't put anything up. Sad thing is, I'm not going to do it now either! Actually, that is because I don't have most of the pictures I want to post. I'm waiting on a friend or two to give me their pics....either because my camera didn't work, was out of disc space or I simply forgot it (this is NORMALLY the case with the Smith clan!). Basically then, this short post is only to tell you to "stay tuned for future events"! Hope to "see" you soon:)

October 1st

Today is quite monumental. It is the last time I turn a calendar over to a new month without better half being here. The RLBT is nearly done. An amazing journey but one I am, to say the least, thrilled to be coming to an end. 'Nuf said.

***It is also my brothers birthday and I forgot to send a card....I also forgot to send a card to my sister-in-law whose birthday was last week. It is me after all and I know they would expect nothing less:) I love you both immensely however and wish you happy days!***
